On this day in 1934, “Public Enemy #1”, John Dillinger, was shot by federal agents led by Melvin Purvis as he exited the Biograph Theater in Chicago. Dillinger was set up by the infamous, “Lady in Red”. To car people however, the interesting part about Dillinger was his affinity for the V8. In this case, Ford’s first flathead.
